Redding Wiki Bylaws
Article I: Name and Purpose

Provide an user-editable resource to the community of Redding, California.

Provide said resource free of charge and advertisements.
Section 1: Name
The name of this organization shall be Redding Wiki. The main website of Redding Wiki shall be

The Purpose of Redding Wiki shall be as follows:
Article II: Membership
Section 1: Eligibility
The Redding Wiki's website is free for anyone to use. Only members of Redding Wiki shall have voting rights. Membership of Redding Wiki shall be open to all persons who have established an account at
http://redding.wikispot.org/Front_Page. Accounts on Redding Wiki constitute a usage of Redding Wiki. Membership is granted to any single person who holds an account on Redding Wiki.
Section 2: Bans
Membership may be revoked in an act known as a "ban." A ban shall occur due to administrative need or from community consensus surrounding the individual's actions. "Administrative need" is the general need to protect the Redding Wiki from acts such as repeated vandalism, spamming, or denial of service attacks. Any member with the appropriate privileges may, out of adminstrative need, ban any user. Users may be banned due to past histories on other Wiki organizations.
Article III: Board of Directors
Section 1: Composition of the Board of Directors
The Redding Wiki Board of Directors shall consist of five individual board members. Each board member must be a member of Redding Wiki. The General Director is a board member.
Section 2: Selection of the Board of Directors
The Board of Directors are to be selected by a meritocracy process. The Board of Directors shall be appointed based on their editorial merit by the General Director and will be given voting power based on their editorial merit as detailed in Wiki Elections.
Section 3: Duties of the Board of Directors
The full administrative authority of the Redding Wiki shall be vested in Board of Directors, and the Board shall oversee the general direction of Redding Wiki and the General Director. Board Members may hold officer positions.
Section 4:Meetings of the Board of Directors
4.1: Frequency of Meetings
The Board of Directors shall meet at a time of their choosing, to discuss matters relevant to Redding Wiki. The board must notify members of their meeting time and location. The location shall always be Redding California.
4.2: Quorum
A meeting may be held provided at least three board members are present and with the required presence of the General Director.
4.3: Votes of the Board of Directors
Each Board member may have voting power according to their merit as determined in Wiki Elections and may vote according to their voting power. A simple majority is needed for Editorial decisions and a 2/3s vote is necessary for any Organizational decisions.
